Responding now to the Colombia earthquake — see how you can help
How we work

When the ground gives way, we make sure help still gets through

Every donation follows one careful path — from a kind hand here in the UK to a family who needs it most.

Our operating model

How your kindness makes the journey

We keep our model simple and repeatable, so every pound and every item of aid can be traced with care — from the person who gives it to the family who receives it.

1

Raise and appeal

We raise funds from the public through our own donation channels and social media, and invite gifts of specific aid items.

2

Source and collect

We source, purchase and gather humanitarian aid — food, water, medical supplies and shelter materials.

3

Store

Collected aid is held safely in UK warehousing — labelled, weighed and tracked, ready to move.

4

Ship

We move aid by sea and air using trusted freight and humanitarian logistics partners. Where a trustee's own logistics company is used, it is only ever on competitive terms and under our conflict-of-interest procedures.

5

Distribute

Accountable local partners we trust place aid directly into the hands of the families and communities who need it most.

6

Record and report

We record every pound raised and every item collected, and how both are used — so we stay accountable to donors and compliant with charity law.

“Everything but each other — that’s what a family can lose in a single moment. We help them find their footing again.”

Where your support goes

What the aid is actually for

Water

Clean drinking water for displaced families and communities without reliable supply.

Food

Food supplies for people who have lost homes, income and access to markets.

Medical supplies

Medical aid to support overstretched local health responders.

Shelter

Shelter materials and clothing for people whose homes were destroyed or damaged.

Making sure aid arrives

Care at every border

Sending help across the world in an emergency carries real risks. We take them seriously, so your kindness reaches the right hands.

We know our partners

We carry out due diligence on the identity, reputation and capability of any overseas partner or recipient before transferring funds or aid.

We keep the records

We keep records sufficient to demonstrate compliance with UK financial sanctions law and anti-money laundering regulations on cross-border transfers.

We manage conflicts openly

Any conflict of interest — for example, using a trustee’s logistics business — is formally declared, the trustee withdraws from the decision, and independent quotes are compared and minuted.

We report concerns

Any serious incident, including suspected diversion of funds or aid, is reported to the Charity Commission without undue delay.

Looking ahead

Built for wherever we’re needed next

We were founded after the June 2026 Venezuela earthquakes — still the heart of our work — and today we’re also standing with families hit by the August 2026 Colombia earthquake. But our purpose was always bigger than any single emergency: to help people affected by disaster, humanitarian emergency or catastrophe anywhere in the world.

When the next crisis comes, we don’t have to start from scratch. The same model — raising, collecting, shipping, distributing and recording — is ready to carry help wherever it’s needed most.

Help us keep this chain moving

Every stage — raising, collecting, shipping, distributing — needs support to keep going.
