Getting real help to communities hit by earthquakes

We raise funds and collect humanitarian aid across the UK, and get it to communities devastated by earthquakes — working with people who know the region and accountable local partners on the ground.

Every box is a lifeline

One mission, responding wherever earthquakes strike

Venezuelan Relief UK is a registered charity providing international earthquake disaster relief. Donations support our relief work as a whole — they are not tied to a single country or appeal, and our trustees direct them to where the need is greatest across our active responses.

Our active responses

Two emergencies. One accountable relief effort.

We are currently responding to two major earthquake disasters. Here is where each response stands right now.

Ongoing since June 2026 Earthquake

Venezuela earthquakes

On 24–25 June 2026, two major earthquakes struck Venezuela, causing widespread destruction, loss of life and displacement. It remains our primary, most developed response.

What we're doing: collecting donated humanitarian aid across more than 30 UK collection points, storing it in UK warehousing, and shipping it by sea container to Venezuela, where trusted local contacts and partner organisations distribute it directly to affected communities.

Colombia earthquake

On 10 August 2026, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake — the most powerful to hit Colombia this century — struck the west of the country. Cities including Cali, Pereira, Manizales and Quibdó were badly affected, buildings and hospitals collapsed, and the government declared a national disaster.

What we're doing: we are raising funds to provide financial support through established, registered local charities in Colombia — chosen for their accountability and clear traceability of where money goes. We do not operate on the ground in Colombia ourselves; our role is to raise funds in the UK and channel them responsibly to organisations that do.

How we work

From a UK donation to a family in need

Every donation and every box of aid follows the same accountable path.

Raise

We raise funds and collect aid directly from the UK public through appeals and social media.

Collect & store

Food, water, medical supplies and shelter materials are collected and held in UK warehousing pending shipment.

Ship or fund

Where we operate directly, we ship collected aid overseas through specialist freight partners. Elsewhere, we channel funds to accountable local charities on the ground.

Distribute

Local contacts and partner organisations get aid and support directly to affected communities and individuals.

Who we are

Founded by people with real ties to the region

Venezuelan Relief UK was founded by three trustees with direct personal and professional ties to Venezuela, and existing relationships with local contacts and organisations coordinating relief efforts on the ground.

Every trustee has an equal vote and equal responsibility, and every payment from our accounts requires two authorised signatures.
