We raise funds and collect humanitarian aid across the UK, and get it to communities devastated by earthquakes — working with people who know the region and accountable local partners on the ground.
Every box is a lifeline
Venezuelan Relief UK is a registered charity providing international earthquake disaster relief. Donations support our relief work as a whole — they are not tied to a single country or appeal, and our trustees direct them to where the need is greatest across our active responses.
We are currently responding to two major earthquake disasters. Here is where each response stands right now.
On 24–25 June 2026, two major earthquakes struck Venezuela, causing widespread destruction, loss of life and displacement. It remains our primary, most developed response.
What we're doing: collecting donated humanitarian aid across more than 30 UK collection points, storing it in UK warehousing, and shipping it by sea container to Venezuela, where trusted local contacts and partner organisations distribute it directly to affected communities.
How this response worksOn 10 August 2026, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake — the most powerful to hit Colombia this century — struck the west of the country. Cities including Cali, Pereira, Manizales and Quibdó were badly affected, buildings and hospitals collapsed, and the government declared a national disaster.
What we're doing: we are raising funds to provide financial support through established, registered local charities in Colombia — chosen for their accountability and clear traceability of where money goes. We do not operate on the ground in Colombia ourselves; our role is to raise funds in the UK and channel them responsibly to organisations that do.
