We're a small, new charity, so we've built accountability in from day one. Here's our story, how your support is used, how we govern ourselves, and the documents behind it.
On 24–25 June 2026, Venezuela was struck by two major earthquakes causing widespread destruction, loss of life and displacement. Our founding trustees began coordinating an informal relief effort within days, drawing on their own contacts within affected communities.
As the scale of donations and aid collected grew — by then, around 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid, held in UK warehousing pending shipment — the trustees concluded that a properly constituted and regulated charity was the right vehicle to continue the work accountably: to access Gift Aid and other charitable tax reliefs, and to give donors confidence that funds are governed under charity law.
Venezuelan Relief UK's constitution was adopted on 10 July 2026.

No one chooses the day the ground gives way beneath them. In a single moment, a family can lose their home, their livelihood — everything but each other. We believe that when that moment comes, no one should face it alone, and no distance is too far for kindness to travel. Wherever in the world disaster strikes, we bring people together here in the UK — collecting aid, raising funds, and carrying real, practical help to the families who need it most, hand in hand with partners we trust on the ground.
Our story began in the aftermath of the June 2026 Venezuela earthquakes — and those communities remain close to our hearts and at the centre of our work today. Now we're standing alongside families hit by the August 2026 Colombia earthquake too. But we were never built for a single moment in time. Venezuelan Relief UK is here for the long road — ready to show up, again and again, wherever the next disaster falls and whoever needs us next.
Donations support our disaster-relief work as a whole and aren't tied to a single country or appeal — our trustees direct them to where the need is greatest.
